Here is Jonathan’s personal Thanksgiving message. We know so many of you look forward to these!
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends around the world.
Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year and not just because of football, family and great food. I love it because of the focus on giving thanks. I’m keeping my annual tradition alive by (over)sharing the things I am thankful for in 2016!
I’m thankful for the gin explosion in the UK & Ireland. These new gins are so delicious you barely need tonic. Some faves: Bertha’s Revenge, The Botanist and Gunpowder. Thanks to Hendrick’s for kicking off this gin boom!
I’m thankful for grit and that my parents raised me in a home that rewarded hard work, tenacity and perseverance.
I’m thankful that God heard our prayers, and Laura and I will be welcoming a new Epstein to the world in February!
I’m thankful that Celebrated Experiences is donating nearly $30,000 to charity this year! We donate $1 for every room night booked with us. Stay tuned as next month I will share more details of this great news!!
I’m thankful for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and licorice. Eaten separately – not together.
I’m thankful for my wife, Laura. I wake up every day and go to bed every night knowing I am the most fortunate man in the world. She’s also a great drinking buddy (when not pregnant).
I’m thankful for Ashleigh, Celebrated’s England Director. She shares so much incredible knowledge and works so hard for our travel advisor clients.
I’m thankful for my dog, Truman. He had a dream to be President this year, but he then found out dogs are not allowed on the ballot. He was devastated.
I’m thankful for Celebrated Italy!!! Can you believe we now have a Collection of 90 Celebrated Hotels in Italy? We’ve had a great second year booking over 8,700 room nights! I love our team: Lorri, Anna, Margaret and Sue!!! If you still have not worked with them you are so missing out.
I’m thankful for great hikes with David. At 8 years old he is a machine! We had such a great July 4th exploring the trails in Grand Teton National Park.
I’m thankful for Patricia, Director of our Scotland Division. Because of her leadership and creativity we booked over 4000 room nights in Scotland for the first time! Massive effort and big milestone!
I’m thankful for Heeland Coos (Highland Cows to the non-Scottish among us).
I’m thankful for our Celebrated Guides! They are not just knowledgeable but also entertaining, kind, fun and perfect ambassadors for their destinations. They are great friends who go the extra mile for us every day.
I’m thankful for Jennifer who runs our Ireland Division. Ireland may not have a queen, but if Jennifer keeps sending over so much business, they might make her their queen. I’m also thankful for her amazing attitude.
I’m thankful for Dad (you know him as Preston)! Can you believe he just turned 80? He and mom started Celebrated Experiences 26 years ago, and while we may be bigger, I hope we stand as a reflection of their incredible vision to create joy and magical memories for those fortunate enough to travel to our destinations.
I’m thankful for Celebrated Perks. Clients love our special amenities! Some examples are afternoon tea at The Kensington, a guided walk in the Burren National Park at Gregans Castle, a whisky tasting at Isle of Eriska, a boat trip on Loch Lomond at Cameron House, and a cocktail making class overlooking The Duomo at Antica Torre.
I’m thankful for Millennials. Man, do they get a bad rap!!! Our team of Celebrated Millennials helps us power to new heights every day. They also make it a lot more fun to come to work!
I’m thankful for the The Milestone (England), Hayfield Manor (Ireland), Gleneagles (Scotland) and Villa TreVille (Italy). These hotels were this year’s winners as we received more positive feedback about them than any other hotels in their destination in 2016. The Shelbourne also deserves a mention as the feedback was incredible for their first year as a Celebrated Hotel.
I’m thankful that I celebrated 10 years at Celebrated Experiences this year. Here’s hoping I’ll be celebrating my 80th at Celebrated just like Dad.
I’m thankful that Laura and I were able to pull off the surprise of the year and make David’s dream come true this Labor Day Weekend. Travel really is the best gift!!!
I’m thankful for the new Celebrated Hotels that have joined our Collection. Here’s a small preview: Brown’s in London; Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como; and Inchydoney in West Cork.
I’m thankful that I’ll be surrounded by family and friends tomorrow. I never will take that for granted!!
Thanks so much for reading and being a part of our Celebrated Family. Happy Thanksgiving!
