One of our new Celebrated Hotels for 2017 has gotten lots of attention, Cliff at Lyons. This is the sister hotel of two very popular Celebrated Hotels: Cliff House Hotel on Ireland’s southern coast and Cliff Townhouse on St. Stephens Green in Dublin.

As one would expect for a sister property of these two major culinary destinations, food is a huge priority. CLIFF Executive Chef Martijn Kajuiter, widely regarded as one of Europe’s top chefs, is now overseeing the dining experience at Cliff at Lyons with Head Chef Nathan Dimond. The property’s Orangery Restaurant is one of Ireland’s best opportunities to experience “green dishes” showcasing local garden beetroots, artichokes, leeks, lettuces and beans and honey from their own estate bees. Of course, this fresh produce can be accompanied by organic Salmon, Rosé Veal, Hereford Beef and Monkfish from Helvick Bay to name a few popular menu options.

Cliff at Lyons provides a tranquil base to start or end an itinerary as it is just 45 minutes from Dublin Airport and 30 minutes from Dublin City. The setting is beautiful, and the property also offers clients a hotel experience unique to Ireland with exceptional value with many rooms pricing under $300/night. This is also a brilliant hotel for families as there are residence-style options as well.

For 2017 they have launched CLIFF Academy, an exciting program of Masterclasses and cookery demonstrations delivered by renowned Irish Chefs in addition to being Ireland’s first school offering City & Guilds qualifications for professional chef courses. They also have CLIFF Kids Club, a toy library, games room and a fleet of bicycles for canal bike adventures. They also have a luxury spa that is opening this year in their historic Carriage House building.

We love this hotel as it gives our clients a chance to experience parts of Ireland that we love that are often missed: Counties Kildare and Wicklow. It is also so practical for clients who begin their Ireland experience in Dublin, but upon their return for their flight home would prefer a different experience than staying again in the city.
