I am in love with Villa Spalletti Trivelli in Rome. As the owner of a family owned and operated business, I certainly have an unapologetic bias toward hotels that operate in the same way. Sadly, over the past decade there have been fewer and fewer available properties that have this “family” approach, especially in the luxury end of the market. In Rome,Villa Spalletti Trivelli is not only owned and managed by a lovely family, the property is such an intrinsic part of this family’s history that guests have the opportunity to truly feel like a guest in their historic home. This is one of Rome’s most intimate and warm properties, and it is also one of the Eternal City’s most innovative and exclusive luxury options. Its central location – steps from the Trevi Fountain and the fashionable Monti District – is another reason why we get such amazing feedback about this special hotel.
This palatial villa has been in the Spalletti Trivelli family for generations, and the next generation now helps run this hotel. They consistently update the bedrooms, suites and public areas, and our clients love the modern amenities that combine with the historical feel of this hotel.
Starting this summer, one of THE places to be in Rome is their exclusive rooftop. Like the hotel’s brilliant gardens, the rooftop is a new sanctuary to enjoy throughout the day and into the evening. Complete with comfy daybeds and billowing white linen curtains, shaded sofas and sun loungers, the rooftop bar and Jacuzzis will offer tranquil areas with wonderful views across the roofs of the Italian capital. After fun mornings exploring the city’s sights, the terrace provides the perfect spot for an afternoon of rest and relaxation accompanied by soft, soothing music.
Food on the roof terrace and at the hotel draws heavily from local Italian tradition, offering a simple yet delicious selection of salads using the Spalletti Trivelli family’s organic Pomario olive oil, sandwiches using freshly baked bread, and homemade gelato. Meanwhile, guests are welcome to pour themselves a drink from the complimentary bar to sip while enjoying the view.
This is definitely the year to visit Villa Spalletti Trivelli as they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. The hotel has a great program meant to entice people to experience the property in 2017, and this package includes roundtrip airport transfers and more.
