Sometimes staying in a hotel is a lot more than simply staying in a hotel. One of my favorite examples of this is The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa which is located (you guessed it!) in the heart of The Royal Crescent, Bath, one of the world’s most iconic structures. The Royal Crescent could in fact be the most famous Georgian building in the world. Fortunately, this luxury 5-star hotel does not simply rest on having a stellar location as it continues to evolve and get better and better. New ownership invested massively a few years ago, raising the standard throughout, yet still ensuring the traditional style and feel one would expect in this type of historic property.
This year the Royal Crescent is celebrating its 250th anniversary so what better time to visit? The hotel has put together quite a few creative packages to celebrate this milestone. We love that you can now ride hot in a hot air balloon from nearby Royal Victoria Park, in association with one of the hotel’ long standing brand partners, Taittinger Champagne. Could there be a better way to view Bath and the English countryside than from the air? Also, their spa which was completely upgraded in 2016 has some very unique spa treatments using Elemental Herbology oils that have been specially formulated in conjunction with the 250th anniversary.
Bath is one of our favorite destinations in the UK. First, it’s simple to get here. Clients can travel to Bath from London via train, by renting a car, or by traveling with one of our incredible Celebrated Driver Guides. Second, there is so much to do in town from strolling the art galleries and antique shops to visiting the 2000 year old Roman ruins to enjoying the city’s parks and gardens. Speaking of gardens, The Royal Crescent Hotel’s incredible acre of gardens are totally majestic and located just behind the Crescent façade. It is one of our favorite spots outside of London for Afternoon Tea . Another great thing to do in Bath is to hit the road and visit the incredible sites in the area such as the ancient pre-historic monuments of Avebury and Stonehenge, daytrip to the Cotswolds, explore Salisbury’s iconic cathedral or take a hike on one of the area’s hundreds of public footpaths.
The Royal Crescent boasts 45 individually decorated luxurious suites and rooms, all incredibly unique with beautiful touches. We most often book the hotel’s Master Rooms which are such great value for this size of room and offer unrivaled views.
