Not many Scottish properties in the past decade have garnered as much buzz as Cheval The Edinburgh Grand. Opened in 2018, this is one of the most elite “residential hotel” concepts that I have seen. Frankly, calling these gorgeous residences “serviced apartments” does not do them justice. Located on St. Andrews Square, one of Edinburgh’s best locations, there is a beautiful reception area and a kind, welcoming staff. The 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom suites have been designed to an exceptional standard, and the 3-bedroom penthouse is absolutely one of the best suites in the country with a huge terrace that commands views over the city’s historic buildings and Castle. Each suite has a small full kitchen and significant space for a city center property. There is even a bar called The Register Club within the property, and it has become the hottest destination in the city for a cocktail, and we loved spending time here.
